I just found out some great news!
Camp of Champions has introduced surfing into their extreme sports camps. I’m very stoked about this. I received a facebook message from Ken Achenbach who works for Camp of Champions. Read it, it’ll get you excited.
This is the deal. The camp is a week long and they’re running 3 this summer. It costs $1100 without accommodation or $1400 with accommodation. You get fed for that as well. They include a surfboard and wetsuit. The camp takes place in Seaview, Washington about 4 hours from Whistler. It looks super fun!
CAMP A - July 18th - July 25th
CAMP B - July 25th - August 1st
CAMP C - August 1st - August 8th
Here’s Ken’s email:
Every year before camp and after camp we head out somewhere and go surfing. It seems like all our snowboard coaches and most of the ski coaches and a couple of the bike coaches surf. Lately we’ve been going to Seaview and have been super stoked on the lack of locals, the tons of waves and the good times we’ve had. It was an easy decision when when were thinking, we should do a surf camp, everyone keeps asking us when we are going to do one, so here it is.
The coolest thing about sports like snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking and surfing is that they are sports that make you want to go out in the world and discover it. They make you want to get in your car, get on a bus, get in a plane and go to new places, meet new people and have the best time of your life and discover new things about yourself that you had no idea existed. Things that leave you a better person at the end of the day. That is why we have added surfing to the list of sports you can learn or get better at with The Camp of Champions. All the sports we do are sports that we live for. Now we want to share our passion for surfing with you so that you can grow and get stoked to travel and see the world. We want to change your life, we want to run into you five years from now on some random Indonesian island surfing and being stoked. A summer camp can do that to a person. We want to do that to you. That’s why we’ve included on the site some photos from our travels surfing over the years. Indo, Tahiti, Brazil, the west coast, the Maldives, and more. Our camp tag line isn’t “Get Stoked” for no reason. If you don’t know how to surf and you’ve always wanted to, now is the time. We have taken the classic, best in the world COC experience and dropped it onto the beach and into the ocean. Get Stoked.
We’re really looking forward helping you get your surf on, so get down here!
Get Stoked,
Ken
