If you have ever wanted to make a documentary, there is a course here in Whistler on how to do it.
Peter ‘Peru’ Chrzanowski’s outdoor/extreme filmmaking course, in Whistler, is a one week course specialized in how to shoot action and adventure in Whistler.
You have to admit, it’s an awesome spot to make a documentary of insanity. I’ve seen people do some pretty extreme things here in Whistler.
The course takes place during the ski and snowboard festival because the festival will be a natural movie set. There’s going to be tonnes of events. The real question is: Can you justify partying as an extreme sport?
The evenings will be spent going over and critiquing footage shot, in camera editing techniques, as well as a whole program for learning the business of film in a condensed amount of time. A selected filmography of chosen works , both by Peter and others will be shown each evening as part of the course. A detailed program is available on request by e-mail. The emphasis here will be on story telling and good character development , something Peter has priotarized in his work. Whether you are an aspiring filmmaker, wish to organize and film your expedition, shoot clients in an existing operation, or just brush up on your skills, this course is for you. One documentary film of the week in progress will be compiled and edited for students to take home with them at the end of the session. Industry experts will participate as guest lecturers.
