The Deal
The well-known environmental attorney and activist, and nephew of John F. Kennedy will speak at AWARE’s 20-year anniversary.
Named one of Time Magazine’s “Heroes for the Planet”, Kennedy’s talk will focus on ‘Our Environmental Destiny’ and the role that natural resources play in our work, our health and our identity. A passionate environmental speaker, Kennedy reminds us that we have a responsibility to protect and preserve our planet for future generations. His work emphasizes the involvement of ordinary people who regard protection of the local environment their personal responsibility.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has earned a reputation as a defender of the environment from many successful legal actions: prosecuting governments and companies for polluting the Hudson River; arguing cases to expand citizen access to the shoreline; and suing sewage treatments plants to force compliance with the Clean Water Act.
Green Drinks!
AWARE is moving its monthly successful and fun social event to the Grand Foyer of the Telus Conference Centre for one night only, to coincide with the Robert F. Kennedy evening.
From 7:30 - 9pm, after listening to RFK you can mix and mingle with others who care about our Environmental Destiny. Local and Vancouver based environmental groups will be in attendance, which will make for the most engaged Green Drinks yet!
